Gas Prices Increase in the UK. Who next?

Assalamu Alaikum,

First it was Npower, then EDF and now it’s British Gas who are set to hike energy prices by 15%. In other words, your gas bill could increase by £1000 a year on average if you are one of the affected 11 million British Gas customers in the UK. Only a few weeks ago did EDF also raise its prices, affecting around 6 million customers in the UK.

Who is your supplier from the big six? Npower, EDF or British Gas? Or is it one of the suppliers that haven’t increased prices as of yet?

If it’s one of the above and you are looking for something cheaper, it wouldn’t do you any harm to look at other options. E.ON, one of the big six suppliers, claim that they guarantee to not hike any prices until at least April 2010, which is a bold claim.

Take a look at the utilites section on IslamiCompare and see if you can reduce your gas bills by hundreds of pounds by making a quick application. With the E.ON application you could save money and you’ll make upto £21.25 just to enquire online!
